i just brought an iphone 4s today and i am now a believer in steve jobs.

very rarely does anything live up to the hype but the iphone is possibly the greatest thing ever created in my lifetime.

i can't think of anything that this "phone" can't do.

Did that book say anything about how Jews got into banking? My understanding is that they got into loaning money because they were forbiden from entering other professions to earn a living.

The witnesses always made a big deal about how many witnesses died in the Nazi camps (and that is awful) but I believe more Catholic priest died at the hands of the Nazis that JWs. I think I read that in Barbara Grizzuti Harisons book on the Watchtower.

As a JW I always sensed the underlying hatred of Jews in the Watchtower. Maybe it went back to Rutherford whos antisemitic statements are on record or maybe it was because they felt they replaced the Jews as Gods chosen people and didn't like the idea of the Jews trying weasel their way back into favor with God putting them back out on the street.

I've never understood why people hate Jews. Some of my best friends have been Jews. Some of the kindest people I've met have been Jews. Some of the funinest people on the planet are Jews. I just don't get why some people are that stupid and mean to as hate and entire group of people whether it is for ethnicity, skin color or some other dumb reason.

Yes, but a very liberal one. I go to an Episcopal church with a woman Priest and gays in the pews..... How sick is that? (being sarcastic here)

My answer is about the same for all of your questions. The guy is a sadistic f'ing bully who should be in jail no matter what religion he claims to be a part of. The poor girl was terrified of him. No child should be that afraid of their parent. I didn't even watch the whole video. He kept hitting her. If he hit her once or twice (not as hard) and you are in the spare the rod camp I guess you could make a case for it being a for of correction but that ass kept hitting her. He must of been enjoying himself. Even if you do believe in that form of correction I would think you would have to admit that that girl was too old for a spanking and that was no spanking. On top of pain it would be humilating to be treated like that at that age.

Hi Dagney. How ya doin?

As Punkofnice said "bad guys have all the fun" That is what it is about. The ghost of Christmas (Robbie Coltrane) shows Edmund Blackadder, a nice guy up to this point how bad his relatives where in the past. When Edmund see how they prospered by their bad behavior he decides that he has been a sucker being nice and becomes just plain nasty. It is hilarious. As MrJones5 said it is on youtube but I can loan it to you the next time I see you. I've got a copy that also has The Vicar of Dibley's Christmas special and that is also very funny.

how wonderful it was... i saw two women over the road knocking on doors .

i could see they were jws...i prayed & asked they would call here... but no!!!!

You go Mouthy! Great job. Hopefully they will start to question their cults doctrines. Or maybe they are already. Hard to tell what is going on sometimes with people.

I've got everything mentioned here except the version of the Nutcraker BOTR metioned. I've watched some of the version of the NC they ran on TV this year. The colors looked pretty dull in them to me. The music was and dancing was good but I expect the colors to be bold and vivid like the live version we used to go see at the Dorothy Chandler in LA. I'm going to Barnes and Noble this morning and will see if the George Balachine's Nutcracker is still available.
